About Nibu Letterpress

Founded by artist Gloria Ceballos, (RCA MA Printmaking) in 2018, Nibu Letterpress™ is a sustainable printing studio based in London, UK.

Originally from Spain and having lived in London for nearly 20 years, Gloria Ceballos studied Interior Design in Madrid before moving and studying Fine Arts at Camberwell College of Arts and an MA in Printmaking at the Royal College of Art, both in London; all before embarking on her own creative business venture in Nibu Letterpress™. She is a paper and stationery lover since an early age, when she collected beautiful patterned papers.

As an artist, Gloria has exhibited her art work all over the globe, from Japan, Australia, India to France, UK and Spain and has been artist in residence (Printmaking) in many art institutions abroad, in Germany, India, Spain as well as in UK.

Outside of Nibu Letterpress™, Gloria pursues her art projects, travels and loves spending time with her family.

Nibu letterpress™ is a responsible printing studio that cares for the environment. Here are some examples of our sustainable practice:

  • The beautiful papers we print on are either tree-free cotton, recycled, non acid or Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) accredited.
  • Printing with Rubber-based and oil-based inks both have 20-30% vegetable-oil (soy and linseed).
  • Using equipment (presses, types, furniture…) that had been restored or bought second hand.
  • Reusing packaging wherever possible: envelopes, mailing boxes are all recycled, or recyclable.
  • Reducing plastic: Using corn starch sleeves instead of plastic ones to protecting and shipping our cards. We have recently substituted the packing tape for an eco paper alternative to regular plastic tape.
  • Cleaning the inks using vegetable oil and Zest cleaner. A more environmentally friendly, non-flammable, biodegradable alternative to ‘turps’ and white spirit, made using the zest of citrus fruit avoiding harsh chemicals.
  • Using paper offcuts for testing ink colour or as beautiful tags. Available here: https://nibuletterpress.com/product/gift-tags-mixed-6/

Nibu Letterpress™ is open to ideas from our customers. However the printing process works with specific requirements. We will need to see if your ideas /images are suitable for printing. Quotes are available upon request.

Due to the nature of letterpress and because it is a handmade process done on antique printing presses, each print is unique. No two prints are entirely identical, therefore subtle variations in inking, colour, impression and position are to be expected. You may also notice that when choosing a wooden font there may be marks or tiny dented corners… All of these is part of the letterpress charm, and we love it!

Nibu Letterpress™ is proud of its reputation. We try our hardest to provide the very best service and product. We are always concerned that customers are happy with the product supplied and will do everything in our power to remedy situations where they are not. If for whatever reason you wish to cancel your order before printing we will be happy to make a full refund, unless you have received a proof in which case we will deduct a 50% of the final price. Refunds will not be available after printing has begun. In the unlikely event that you wish to return your goods after receiving them, please note that we don’t accept any returns of personalised stationery and therefore we will not issue any refunds for them.
